CTC Update Day 3

Brayden Sinclair had a power play goal that earned him Player of the Game in Delta’s loss on Saturday to the Revelstoke Grizzlies, sending the PJHL Champs into the bronze medal game Sunday.

In a must-win game for both the Revelstoke Grizzlies and Delta Ice Hawks to make it to the gold medal game, the host team was able to edge out the PJHL Champions to lock up the last spot in the finals.

Both teams had some stellar chances in the first period, but only one made it past the goal line – a late power play goal by the Grizzlies to make it 1-0 after the first 20 minutes.

In the second period, the Hawks took a quick 2-1 lead, with two goals just over a minute apart. The first was scored by Brayden Sinclair, who grabbed the puck after a scramble out front for a quick goal. **

Not long after, Alec Scouras took a pass from Declan Warburton and snapped it quick past Jozef Kuchaslo to give the Hawks their first and only lead of the game.

With less than a minute to go, the Grizzlies were able to tie it up with a seeing-eye shot from the point that went post-and-in to tie it up going into the final frame.

Revelstoke carried that momentum into the third period, scoring three goals in the frame, and kept Delta off the board to take a 5-2 win.

The Hawks will play against the Oceanside Generals on Sunday in the bronze medal game at 12pm.
