The Ice Hawks got some revenge on Saturday night, taking home a 9-2 win to even the season series with the Port Moody Panthers, after the Panthers won 2-1 in Ladner last month.
Two new APs joined the Ice Hawks for this game, Brayden Miller and Beckett Cross, and they both scored their first PJHL goals in the victory.
Delta jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes, with Kyle Robinson (10), Conner Merriman (20), and Cross notching the goals in the opening frame.
Miller and Carson Merriman (16) added two more for the visiting team in the next period before Port Moody’s Jeffrey Pacholko got the Panthers on the board, setting the score at 5-1 through two periods.
In the third, Payton Hu scored his fifteenth and sixteenth goals of the year, Carson Hemenway had a power play goal, and Colin Jang potted one unassisted to bring the Hawks’ total to nine on the night. PoMo’s Ty Balchen got one more for the Panthers with 24 seconds left in the game, but the Hawks took home a big win to extend their winning streak to five games.
