DELTA, B.C. – The Delta Ice Hawks were poised to open the playoffs at home with a rare Monday night game at Sungod, hosting the Coastal Tsunami. Slipping to fourth in the Tom Shaw Conference standings, the Hawks saw their matchup confirmed with the fifth-seed Tsunami, who held their spot by defeating the Langley Trappers in the final game of the regular season. Though seeded lower in the final standings, the Tsunami have proven an effective and pesky foe throughout the season. The question floated on the minds of the Ice Hawks faithful: could they weather the storm?
