To round out the regular season, the Hawks finished with two games on the road – a 9-1 win against the Surrey Knights Thursday and a 12-2 win against the Chilliwack Jets Sunday.
Kyle Robinson, Brayden Sinclair, and Henry Smith each had two goals in Thursday’s win in Surrey. Sinclair and Alex Lucchesi also each had four assists. Alec Scouras, Ashan Khangura, and Yuji Akimoto also had singles, and Zach Shaughnessy stopped 25 of 26.
Scouras and Akimoto also had goals in Sunday’s game in Chilliwack, but Payton Hu led the way with four goals on the night. Carson Merriman and Hawks AP Beckett Cross each had a pair, and Danylo Bereza and Tye Hemenway had markers as well. Merik Erickson made 29 of 31 saves.
The Hawks finished the season in first place in the Tom Shaw Conference, and will play the winner of the play-in series between the Grandview Steelers and North Vancouver Wolf Pack. Stay tuned for our playoff schedule!
