In a shot-heavy game from both sides, the Ice Hawks were the only team to find the back of the net, taking a 7-0 win over the Ridge Meadows Flames in the first meeting of the year.
Again, Hawks goalie Lucas Disiewich stood tall for his team, saving all 46 shots he faced to keep last year’s PJHL champions off the board, while the team in front of him put up their highest goal total in one game so far in this young season.
After a scoreless first period, the Hawks scored five goals in the middle frame, led off by former Flame Morgan Clark, who scored on the man advantage. That was followed four minutes later by another power play goal from captain Landon Jassmann, his first goal of the year.
Beckett Matlock, Brogan Kennedy (PPG), and Hudson Guiel all added insurance goals before the end of the frame to send the Hawks into the second break up 5-0.
In the third, Jassmann won in a one-on-one and Guiel scored a breakaway goal to solidify the Hawks’ fifth win of the year in six games.
