March 13 – Hawks Feel Heat, Fall to Flames in Game 2

MAPLE RIDGE, B.C. – Adversity, thy name is Flames.

The Delta Ice Hawks had to regroup after losing Game 1 of the Tom Shaw Conference Semifinals at the Cam Neely Arena on Tuesday, with the next battle set for Friday at the same barn. If not careful, the steep grade of going down 2-0 against the defending champions loomed large as a very real possibility.

Gummy Gainz 3 Stars of the Game

  • The Flames swept the stars, with forwards Matthew Biros, Jonah Power Smith, and Samuel Allen earning first-, second-, and third-star honours respectively on multi-point games.
  • Though not recognized as a star in the game, Delta Ice Hawks netminder Armaan Kaila was certainly deserving, making 38 saves in the loss.
