A third-straight win for the Delta Ice Hawks came on Friday night in Maple Ridge, defeating the Ridge Meadows Flames 8-2 at Cam Neely Arena.
Delta scored four goals in the first period and didn’t look back after that. Brayden Sinclair (18, 19) and Payton Hu (11, 12) each had goals in the first and second periods, with their second goals coming on power play opportunities in the middle frame.
Alec Scouras (8) and Yuji Akimoto (7) also had goals in the opening frame, while Conner Merriman netted his seventeenth just over a minute in in the second period. Logan Joslin’s fifth of the season came early in the third to round out the Hawks’ scoring for the evening.
The Flames had a goal in each the second and third period to get on the scoreboard, but Merik Erickson combined with the defence holding the home team to single-digit shots in each period gave the Hawks an easy win.
