The Ice Hawks bounced back from Tuesday’s loss with a 6-3 win over the Langley Trappers on Wednesday night.
Rookie defenceman Noah Hettinga scored his first PJHL goal to open the scoring five minutes into the game to give Delta a 1-0 lead.
Fellow rookie Lucas Jakubec netted his second goal of the year while the Hawks were short-handed to make it 2-0. Langley’s Nabeel Moledina got Langley on the board before the end of the period to cut the lead in half.
But Delta was able to regain the lead and more with a quick goal by Mateo Sjoberg 21 seconds into the second period, then Ryden Mathieson at the three and a half minute mark, giving the visitors a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes.
In the third, the two teams traded goals twice, with Sjoberg and Beckett Cross scoring for the Hawks, and Avraham Brown and Justin Sumners, making it a 6-3 Hawks final and win.
