September 21 Game Recap

The Delta Ice Hawks fell 6-1 to the visiting North Vancouver Wolf Pack on Tuesday night at the Ladner Leisure Centre.

North Van’s first goal came on an attempted Delta zone clear, but they kept the puck in and David Coyle was able to capitalize far side on Dawson Chen.

They added another before the end of the first frame on the power play, Corson Penman’s first of the season, making it 2-0 after one period.

To start the second, Chen made some big saves to keep his team in it, and it paid off briefly for the Ice Hawks. Kyle Robinson picked up a loose puck behind the net and found Ryder Clarke at the top of the left circle. He passed to Alec Scouras in the slot, who battled for position and slid it past Damian Perovic, pulling the Hawks within one.

It was all North Vancouver after that though, with the Wolf Pack scoring four unanswered goals. They regained their two-goal lead back less than 30 seconds after the Hawks scored their goal, thanks to Alex Binette; the score 3-1 after 40 minutes.

Away goals came from Penman, JJ Pickell, and Ben Brownlie in the third period put the final score at 6-1 in Ladner.
