New Hawks

The Hawks have 10 new faces that are joining the
Hawks for the 2023-24 season!

 

Beckett Cross

‘07 F Beckett Cross was a Delta AP last season and scored in all 3 games he played in, as 15 year old!

Coach Steve says: “Beckett’s game has grown significantly over the past season & we have used one of our 16YO spots to sign him as a full time player this year. He is an extremely hard worker with a great attitude & we’re confident he will make a significant impact on our team.”

 

 

Nicholas Kolb

‘06 F Nicholas Kolb was Captain and leading scorer of his GVC U17 team last season.

From Coach Steve: “Nicholas is a complete player who is just scratching the surface of his potential. He has size, athleticism, and a great work ethic. We are excited to work with and assist in his continued development. Nick is someone we expect big things from the in the year ahead.”

 

 

Brandon Petrie

’05 D Brandon Petrie was a Delta AP last year, Brandon had a great season with his GVC U18 squad. He was awarded U18 best Defensemen and selected as BCEHL 1st team All Star.

From Coach Steve: “Brandon is an extremely polished player who makes others around him better. He’s a smart and well-rounded player. Brandon was an AP last year and appeared in key playoff games for the team, and we are super excited to have him on board as a full time player.”

 

 

Dylan Stafford

‘07 D Dylan Stafford is a former teammate of fellow 16-year-old Hawks signee Beckett Cross.

Coach Steve says: “Dylan is an up-and-coming player with skills, smarts, and is a good skater. We didn’t expect him to be ready this year, but the more we watched him and spoke to him, it became clear he was confident, and ready to play and make that leap into Jr hockey.”

 

 

Neland Voshell

‘06 D Neland Voshell played last year with DHA U17 after 3 years at OHA.

“Skating with our group this spring and attending our ID Camp, Neland showed a really polished and solid game with lots of upside to build upon. We’re confident he will be a strong addition to the team and we’re happy to assist in his continuing development,” says Coach Steve.

 

 

Declan Warburton

’05 F Declan Warburton played last season at GVC U18 and at St George’s prior to that, and was a Hawks AP.

From Coach Steve: “Declan endured some injuries and setbacks over the past two seasons but looks poised to have a breakout year and we’re super excited to have him choose Delta. He finished the season and playoffs playing key games for us as AP and was a difference maker. Seeing his regained confidence and the momentum he has carried through camps in the spring, I expect him to have a big year and remind people why he was such a high profile prospect in the past.”

 

Wyatt Sorken

’04 F Wyatt Sorken was traded to the Ice Hawks from the Chilliwack Jets this offseason.

Sorken is from Dawson Creek, BC and started his junior career with the Revelstoke Grizzlies of the KIJHL last season, before moving to the Chilliwack Jets partway through the season. He had 10 (8G, 2A) points in 16 games for the two teams combined last year, and had a playoff goal for the Jets.

 

Michele Romeo

’04 F Michele Romeo was also traded to the Hawks from the Jets this offseason.

From St. Albert, Alberta, Romeo split last season between the KIJHL’s Fernie Ghostriders and the Chilliwack Jets, playing in 31 games and scoring 8 points (4G, 4A). He also had 4 points in 10 playoff games in the Jets’ post-season play.

 

Veer Sadana

’05 F Veer Sadana came to the Ice Hawks in a trade from the Grandview Steelers just days before the two teams were set to face off to open their seasons.

Sadana is from Richmond, BC and played in 19 games for Grandview in 2022-23, scoring 7 points (4G, 3A) in his first season in the PJHL.

 

Remy Quintoro

‘05 G Remy Quintoro played his last 3 seasons with the Greater Vancouver Canadians, posting great numbers.

From Coach Steve: “Remy has established himself as one of the premier ‘05 goalies locally. We are excited that he chose Delta. This signing solidifies our depth in goal & ensures this will be a position of strength for the team, as we strive towards our goal of repeating as champs.”
