October 14 Game Recap

The Hawks lost their third game of the season Saturday night, 4-2 to the Whalers on the road in the second meeting of the season between the two teams.

Each team had a goal late in the first period – Dylan Heer scored first for White Rock, followed by Austin Kofler for Delta. Kofler’s goal came two seconds into a 4-on-4 situation, with Michele Romeo getting him the puck out front after winning the faceoff for a quick tip-in on the other side of the net to tie the game.

Delta took a 2-1 lead halfway through the second period. Aiden McGregor-Bennett forced a turnover in the neutral zone and tapped the puck to Declan Warburton. He carried it up the right wing and found Billy Johal open in the slot, who deked out Keegan Maddocks for an easy goal.

White Rock tied the game before the end of the second, and then had two more goals in the third period, winning the game 4-2
