Delta 4, Richmond 3
The Hawks were back in Richmond on Thursday night and won their third game against the Sockeyes already this season, taking a 4-3 decision over the fish.
Jack Tudhope played hero for the Hawks, scoring the game-winner and assisting on the opening goal of the game to take first star honours. Tudhope found the newly-returned Ryder Dunn to give Delta the lead one minute into the game.
Richmond found the back of the net twice to take their only lead of the game, but Lukas Hoff evened the game at two before the end of the first period.
The teams traded power play goals in the second; Hudson Guiel scoring for the Hawks and Devon Mahil for the Sockeyes to make it a 3-3 game with 20 minutes to go. Tudhope scored the winner a little over halfway into the final frame and the Hawks were able to hang on, despite losing starting goalie Lucas Disiewich to an apparent injury just minutes before the goal.
Next up for the Hawks – the Coastal Tsunami are coming back to town on Saturday night for another face off with Delta – 7pm at Sungod Arena!
