The Ice Hawks lost their first game of the season on Saturday night, an 8-1 defeat in North Vancouver against the Wolf Pack.
North Vancouver had three goals in the first period, scored by Carter Dickson, Rylan Oatman, and JJ Pickell, giving them a 3-0 advantage after 20 minutes.
Declan Warburton got one back for Delta on the power play early in the second, finishing off a pass from below the goal line from the newly-returned Payton Hu, making it 3-1 Wolf Pack.
But that is all the scoring that Delta would see in the game, as North Van stormed back with 5 unanswered goals the rest of the game to end the Hawks’ undefeated streak to open the season.
