The Hawks found double digits again in Port Coquitlam, defeating the Trailblazers 10-1 on Friday night on the road.
Payton Hu and Declan Warburton each had two goals and Remy Quintoro would have had a shut out if not for a Hawks pass gone wrong in the their own end that went in off a PoCo skate to break the goose egg.
Delta started the game on the power play and new Hawk Dawson Toledo scored his first in gold and navy just 25 seconds into the contest. Jaren Ashbee and Austin Kofler also scored in the first, their sixth and fifth goals on the year respectively.
Mateo Sjoberg, Danylo Bereza, and Hu had the Hawks’ trio of goals in the middle frame, making it a 6-0 game after 40 minutes.
Hu’s second of the game and Warburton’s first came in the early half of the third for an 8-0 lead ahead of the aforementioned blunder, leading to a goal credited to Cadence Stanley to make it 8-1 past the middle of the third period. Tye Hemenway and Warburton would add on before the end of the game, making it a 10-1 final and the Hawks’ second-straight win this week.
