Nov 5 Game Recap – Hawks win!

The Delta Ice Hawks got back on track Saturday night in North Vancouver, defeating the Wolf Pack 5-0 on their home ice.

North Vancouver outshot Delta 16-8 in the first period, but Merik Erickson stood tall to keep his team in it early and stopped all 33 shots he faced. His defence stepped up in the last two frames, holding the Wolf Pack to single-digit shots in both the second and third periods.

Though the first period was scoreless on both sides, the Ice Hawks scored on four of 25 shots to take a commanding 4-0 through 20 minutes. Ryal Bal and Danylo Bereza scored just 31 seconds apart, Bal’s third of the season and Bereza’s second. Aiden McGregor-Bennett added his fourth at the halfway mark of the frame, and Colin Jang squeaked in his fifth goal with just two seconds left in the middle period while the Hawks were on the power play.

Kyle Robinson’s fifth of the year was the only goal in the third period, netted just 15 seconds in, to round out the scoring in the game and helped the Hawks take home a win to Ladner.
