November 24 Game Recap – Hawks Win!

The Ice Hawks bounced back in a major way on Friday night, defeating the Port Coquitlam Trailblazers 17-1 following the shutout loss on Tuesday.

Three Hawks had hat tricks – Mateo Sjoberg, Payton Hu, and Colin Jang – and nine different Hawks potted goals in the win. Remy Quintoro allowed just one goal towards the end of the game, stopping 21 of 22.

Delta had four quick goals to start the game, going up 4-0 just 6:13 into the first period, with Jang, Hu, and Sjoberg each getting their first of the night and Aiden McGregor-Bennett scoring a Michigan goal for his second of the year; the Hawks’ second Michigan of the season.

In the second, Sjoberg had two to complete his hat trick, and Hu, Carson Merriman, and Declan Warburton each added one in the frame, making it 9-0 after 40 minutes.

Hu got his hat trick just 25 seconds into the third period, followed by Jang four minutes later, as Jang scored two goals in 30 seconds for his trio. Jang would score two more in the period, compiling a total of eight points in the win. Danylo Bereza, Austin Kofler, and Nicholas Kolb each added a goal of their own in the final frame, putting the Hawks at 17 goals on the night.
