October 7 Game Recap

The Hawks fell in a shootout 2-1 on Saturday night in White Rock, but were still able to take a point away in just the second loss of the season.

Zach Shaughnessy saved 33 of 34 shots, doing his best to keep his team in the game until the end.

White Rock’s only regular goal came in first by Max Lyons and that 1-0 White Rock lead carried into the second, until Michele Romeo tied the game in second on power play, short side snipe to beat Keegan Maddocks and tie the game 1-1.

The third and overtime periods were scoreless, which forced a shootout to decide the winner. The Hawks were shut out in the shootout, with the Whalers scoring the lone goal to take the 2-1 win. The Hawks are back in White Rock next Saturday for a rematch
