The Ice Hawks kept on rolling on Tuesday night, winning their fifth-straight game to start the season, outdoing the Mission City Outlaws 3-0 in Ladner.
Hawks starting goalie Zach Shaughnessy earned his first shutout of the season by stopping all 21 shots he saw from Mission, keeping the Outlaws off the board in all five power play chances.
Delta had one goal per period in this one. Carson Merriman scored his seventh of the season off a face-off win from Michele Romeo just 1:16 into the game, wristing it under the arm of Samuel Snyder in net for a quick 1-0 lead.
The second period goal came when Lachlan Freer walked in along the left side and took a slap shot that was re-directed by Hawks AP Jack Ferguson for his first PJHL goal to make it 2-0 Delta after two periods.
Another early goal came from Merriman to start the third period, his eighth in five games. Colin Jang passed out front to Merriman in the slot and he snuck a shot past Snyder, who did get a piece, but the shot flipped in over the goal line for a Hawks 3-0 win.
