The Ice Hawks are now up 2-0 in the series with the North Vancouver Wolf Pack, as Game 2 went their way with a 6-3 final.
North Van’s JJ Maros had the only goal of the first period, giving the Wolf Pack a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes, but that didn’t last long into the second.
Billy Johal scored against his former team to complete a passing play from Mateo Sjoberg and Danylo Bereza and tie up the game, followed minutes later by a quick wrister from Ryden Mathieson after an errant pass hit a Wolf Pack skate out front and went right onto his stick, making it a 2-0 Hawks lead through two.
The first of four Hawks goals in the third came from Austin Kofler, as he skated through the slot and tipped a Michele Romeo pass past Brayden Burrows, giving Delta a 3-1 lead.
Romeo later scored the eventual game winner when he picked up a rebound out front and made a move around a sprawling Burrows to slide it into an open net.
And the Hawks kept coming, with Kofler stealing the puck inside the North Van blue line and finding Declan Warburton towards the right side, who was able to snipe one into the back of the net to give the Hawks their biggest lead of the night at 5-1.
Cameron Moore and Ryan Hay brought the Wolf Pack closer within the final few minutes, but AP Baden Pazdzierski came out on the right end of a scramble out front to give the Hawks a 6-3 win.
